MWOASSA Sporting Achievements for Kingswood High Support Students For the first three terms of each year Support Units from the region come together and compete for the honour of obtaining and holding on to the Perpetual Trophy which is given to the school with the overall highest point score on the day. Over the past three years the students of Kingswood High Support Unit have dominated and been the champion school in all three carnival events held by MWAOSSA. Swimming The Annual swimming Carnival is held in term one at the Blacktown Olympic Pool complex. Students, teachers and Teacher’s Aides travel to the pools by public transport and school bus thereby incorporating a practical application to our Travel Training Programs. Our students compete against students in the same age category across the four styles of swimming strokes. The other schools which include: Rowland Hassell, The Hills Sports High School, have put up fierce competition, but the splendid attendance of the Kingswood High Support students have ensured that we have been the overall winners for the past three consecutive years. Cross Country Carnivals This event takes place in second term and is usually held at Regatta Park Rowing Centre in Castlereagh. The picturesque outdoor setting of the lakes inspires our students to run, walk or stroll the short course distance. Athletics Carnival The last MWOASSA event on the school calendar is the Athletics carnival. This carnival is usually held at the Blacktown Olympic Sports Fields and is one of the favourite carnivals of the Support Unit. It provides our students with the opportunity to compete in a variety of events from Shot Put, High Jumps, Long jumps and the 100 and 200m foot races. This allows our students to perform and shine over a number of events against students of their own age and abilities.
