Reading and Competitions

Reading Competitions

Kingswood High School has two reading competitions open to all students. These are the Premier’s Reading Challenge and our own version – the Kingswood High School Reading Challenge.

Kingswood High School Reading Challenge

With over $1200 in book prizes, certificates and other awards, this challenge has become extremely popular with many of our students. Once entered, readers are issued with a card for the Term. Credits are marked on student cards for each book or magazine that is read. At the end of term, students are entered into a draw once for each credit that they have on their card. The first drawn student receives a $100 voucher with a student from each of the other year groups with greater than 6 entrants receiving $20-$30 vouchers. Year groups with less than 7 entrants will be combined together. Aditionally, there will be a number of prizes awarded for various reading activities throughout the year.
